WA JMO Committee
Aims
- To enable effective JMO representation on relevant PMCWA Committees and other bodies to facilitate two-way communication.
Structure
- The JMO Committee will consist of pre-vocational representatives, including RMO Society President from Fremantle, King Edward Memorial, Princess Margaret, Royal Perth and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospitals. Members of the JMO Committee will nominate their representatives at the beginning of each calendar year.
- Membership of the JMO Committee will encompass all pre-vocational medical officers.
- Membership of the JMO Committee will include a nominated representative of the AMA Doctors-in-Training Committee.
- Membership of the JMO Committee will include nominated medical student representatives from the Universities of Western Australia and Notre Dame.
- The JMO Committee will meet at least bi-monthly. Committee members are responsible for disseminating outcomes of meetings to JMOs through RMO Societies.
- JMO Committee representatives will elect a Chair and Deputy Chair from its membership for a period of one year, commencing September/October each year.
- Members of the JMO Committee will be nominated for representation on the Postgraduate Medical Council of Western Australia (PMCWA) and its Committees.
- The JMO Committee will seek secretariat support to the JMO Forum and Committee.
- A quorum will consist of a representative from at least three hospitals.
Terms of Reference
- To focus on the participation and involvement of JMOs in the decision making and planning functions of the Postgraduate Medical Council of WA and its committees.
- To provide advice to PMCWA and its Committees on issues of relevance to JMOs.
- To report to PMCWA Committees on relevant issues and where appropriate, forward issues to Council through the Committee reports.
- To assist in the development and evaluation of resources developed by the PMCWA and its Committees.
- To educate and inform key stakeholders of the goals of PMCWA Council.
- To provide representation on PMCWA Committees to support their work in achieving the goals of Council.
- To support members of Council, Executive and Secretariat attending the JMO Forum as a resource on specific issues, when appropriate.
