A. There is no formal observership programme available in WA at present. Please contact hospitals directly for hospital specific information.

Q. I am currently a specialist in an overseas country can I work as a specialist in WA?

A. Conditions apply. Further information about assessment of your overseas qualifications can be obtained from the WA Overseas Trained Doctors website.

Q. What do I have to do in order to work as a medical practitioner in WA?

A. A WA Overseas Trained Doctor website has been developed to provide information for doctors who obtained their primary medical qualification outside of Australia.

Q. Is my medical degree registrable with the Medical Board of Western Australia?

A. Yes, providing that your medical school is recognised by the World Health Organisation.

Q. What jobs are available in WA for doctors with my specialist qualifications?

A. There are several websites containing various job vacancies both in Western Australia and the other states of Australia.
